The attention of the Management of Presidential Amnesty Program has been drawn to rumor making the rounds in the social media that the new Interim Administrator has stopped the payment of stipends to ex-agitators.
There is no iota of truth in the rumor. The allegation is unfunded, baseless, and at best a concoction from the facile imagination of mischief makers whose intention is to cause disaffection and bring the hard-earned reputation of the Interim Administrator into disrepute.
This story is a deliberate misdemeanor intended to derail the loft dreams of the General. Therefore, it stands to be condemned by every well-meaning Niger Delta citizen.
We would like to place on record that neither the new Interim Administrator nor the Management of the program had at any time placed an embargo on the payment of stipends to beneficiaries.
The stipend for this month has already been transferred to appropriate quarters since 24th of October for appropriate action, however the present delay is due to banking processes and procedures. And not necessarily the fault of the management.
We regret the inconvenience this may have caused the recipients.
We use this medium to assure the ex-agitators and indeed the stakeholders that the Interim Administrator does not and will not stop the payment of stipends to the usual beneficiaries.
We therefore admonish the public and critical stakeholders to disregard and ignore the rumor because it does not represent the reality on ground.
Management will not hesitate to take decisive legal action against any individual or group of persons whose intention is to malign, misrepresent or obscure the good works of the new Interim Administrator.
Let be noted that the management of PAP is on course with regards to its obligation to delegates as it assures the ex-agitators that their accounts will be credited by the various banks in the next few days.
Again, we would like to reiterate the fact that the Interim Administrator is committed to the ideals of the Presidential Initiative hence, he will not be distracted by the agents of mischief.
